TAKE IN: Monday, April 29, 2024 – 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Hand-delivered entries will be received at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson, TX 75082. No late entries will be accepted.

If accepted, instructions for artwork requiring shipping for entry to the RCAS Regional Exhibition will be emailed to artists along with the notification letter of accepted entries. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs. Shipped entries are to be sent to: Judith Pafford, 5960 W. Parker Road, Ste 278-407, Plano, TX 75093. Shipped artwork must be received between April 20 and April 27, 2024. Shipped entries must be sent prepaid in a reusable crate. You are encouraged to insure your art when shipping for your own protection. RCAS will not be responsible for damages incurred during shipping to or from the exhibition. No late entries will be accepted.

3468c0 RECEPTION & AWARDS: Sunday, May 12th, 2024 – 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Awards reception at the Charles W. Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson, TX 75082. Artists, friends and family are invited to enjoy refreshments along with members of the art community and City of Richardson officials.

LOAD OUT: Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 – 10:00 am to noon. Pick up of hand-delivered entries. No storage facilities are available. Entries must be picked up on the specified date. Failure to pick up on time may cause you to forfeit ownership of the artwork.

A native Texan, Jo Williams has been painting professionally for almost forty years. She is a versatile and accomplished painter choosing her subjects from the natural world.

Williams has a degree in art education from the University of North Texas, Denton, TX, with post graduate work under Professor Rob Erdle, head of the watercolor program at UNT. She has been teaching painting, primarily watercolor, for about forty years. A popular teacher, she conducts plein aire workshops throughout the southwest including Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Mexico.   In the summer of 2000, she taught in the Colorado Plateau Painting Workshop at Flagstaff, AZ. She taught week-long workshops for Artistic Gourmet Adventures in Provence and Brittany in France, in the summers of 2015 – 2017.  In addition to teaching, she gives demonstrations for area art organizations and judges regional art exhibits.

Williams holds signature memberships in the Southwestern Watercolor Society and the Society of Watercolor Artists.  Her work has been exhibited in numerous regional and national juried exhibitions.  She has won several awards including Best of Show in the Texas Neighbors Art Competition in Irving and the North Texas Area Art League Annual Juried Exhibition 2000 in Denton.  In 2008, Williams was invited to paint an ornament for the White House Christmas tree to represent the 26th Congressional District.

She has had several solo exhibitions including an invitational exhibit at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri and an invitational exhibit at the Center for Visual Arts in Denton. TX.  Her work is included in many private collections and public collections including Raytheon, Ben E. Keith Co., Denton Publishing Company, City of Denton, and the Greater Denton Arts Council.
