Julia Beaton
Julia Beaton

Julia Beaton has worked in corporate America for 40 years, starting in New York. Her various careers have spanned Advertising and Publishing to Corporate Interior Design, and for the past 20 years, Pharmaceutical Sales. She has a BFA and BS from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX and an Interior Design degree from Mesa College, San Diego, CA.

While she never studied art or painting formally, Julia has always had a passion for anything “creative”. It wasn’t until COVID 19 shutdown her ability to leave home for work in 2020 that she was encouraged (by her husband) to explore painting as an outlet.

From that spark she has taken classes and workshops, exploring painting techniques and styles to develop her individual passion of expression. Her award-winning pieces have been featured in art galleries and shows in Narragansett, RI, and across North Texas.

Artist Statement

I would say my evolution as an artist continues, as I explore new mediums and study different expressive styles. I live and paint in Plano, working predominantly in acrylics. And, I thank my amazing family, including my husband, Ross, and two sons, Cameron and Colin for all their support in my artistic endeavors.

I truly believe my latent talent is God-given, and I use that gift to capture the beauty of nature around me in my work. Life can often feel dreary, lonely or incredibly negative. I want my art to uplift and encourage others. I love incorporating bold, rich colors in a contemporary impressionistic style. Many of my paintings are inspired through my travels and range from landscapes and florals to still lifes and animals.
